It’s been a busy and inspiring few months since my last newsletter, and I’m excited to share what’s been happening at Body Design!
This fall, we launched six new classes — a mix of yoga and Small Group Training — and welcomed 57 participants. It’s been wonderful to see so many familiar faces return and new ones join our community, all working toward better strength, mobility, and balance.
We also kicked off our second 30-Day Nutrition and Strength Challenge on October 20th. With seven dedicated participants, the challenge wrapped up on November 19th, and I’m so proud of everyone’s commitment to building healthy habits that last.
On a personal note, I participated in the Parkinson Canada SuperWalk on September 7th in Newmarket, raising $5,817 in support of Parkinson Canada — a cause close to my heart. I’m deeply grateful for everyone who supported me in this effort.
I was also honoured to be the guest speaker at the Hope for Parkinson’s Dinner & Dance Fundraiser on November 1st. The evening brought together 220 guests and raised an incredible $12,000 in support of Parkinson Canada. It was a night filled with connection, inspiration, and hope.
Finally, my Parkinson’s journey, “Life After DBS: Finding Hope Again,” was featured in the Connect Newsletter, published by the Patient Advisory Committee of the Movement Disorders Clinic at Toronto Western Hospital. This newsletter reaches over 5,500 subscribers, including patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. I’m humbled and grateful for the opportunity to share my story with such a meaningful audience.
Winter is right around the corner, and registration for our Winter Classes is now open! Don’t let the cold weather, snow, or shorter days discourage you — staying active and connected is one of the best ways to boost your energy and well-being through the season. I look forward to seeing you in class and continuing this journey toward better health, strength, and balance together.
As we wrap up the year, I want to wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a New Year filled with blessings, good health, and happiness. Thank you for being part of the Body Design community — I can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together in 2026!
